We're Trying To Sign Messi, Says Atletico Madrid Chairman

Atletico Madrid chairman Enrique Cerezo has joked that he is working on a deal to bring Barcelona star Lionel Messi to the club.
The two sides went head-to-head on Sunday looking to make ground on League-leaders Real Madrid, with Messi scoring a late winner to give Barça a 2-1 win at the Vicente Calderón.
"We're trying to bring Messi to Atletico Madrid," he told Bein Sport.

"The rest are secondary for us."
Messi has been linked with a move away from the Catalan club at the end of the season following a breakdown in communications regarding a new deal at Camp Nou.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and Serie A's Inter are both said to be interested in a transfer, while a return to boyhood club Newell's Old Boys in Argentina has also been mooted.
