Ligue 1 Round-up: PSG Narrowly Win; Balotelli Back As Nice Beat Dijon

Here's the roundup of Saturday Ligue 1 games...
Paris Saint Germain 1 - 0 Nancy

Edinson Cavani struck the only goal from the penalty spot with 10 minutes to go as Paris Saint-Germain laboured to a 1-0 win over AS Nancy Lorraine at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

It looked as if PSG would have to settle for a point against relegation-threatened opponents until they were awarded the spot-kick by referee Antony Gautier after Serge Aurier went down under a Sergey Chernik challenge in the box.

Cavani stepped up and netted the resulting penalty for his 27th league goal of the campaign and his 37th in all competitions as PSG kept the pressure on AS Monaco at the top of the Ligue 1 table and kept their unbeaten start to 2017 going before their UEFA Champions League trip to Barcelona in midweek.

Nancy have now gone six games without a win or a goal and remain deep in trouble at the foot of the table.

Dijon 0 - 1 Nice

Nice remain right in the title hunt after a Wylan Cyprien goal secured a 1-0 win away to Dijon at the Stade Gaston-Gerard.

Nice had Mario Balotelli back in their starting line-up after suspension.

And the visitors got the breakthrough in the 69th minute as Cyprien, cutting in from the right, expertly controlled a Valentin Eysseric pass before firing past Baptiste Reynet.

Nice remain third, level on points with Paris Saint-Germain in second, and continue to pile pressure on league leaders AS Monaco.

Caen 2 - 3 Angers

Karl Toko Ekambi was among the scorers as Angers continued their remarkable run of form, beating Caen 3-2 to claim a fourth successive Ligue 1 victory.

Toko Ekambi, who won the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon in Gabon last month, opened the scoring at the Stade Michel-d'Ornano inside six minutes.

It was Toko Ekambi's fifth league goal of the campaign. However, Caen were back on level terms soon after as Ronny Rodelin scored the equaliser in 12th minute.

Angers were back in front as skipper Cheikh Ndoye headed in from an Issa Cissokho cross.

Thomas Mangani netted from the penalty spot after Toko Ekambi was fouled in the area by Adeoti. But Caen pulled another goal back as Ivan Santini scored his 11th of the league campaign.

Angers have risen from the relegation zone into the top half.

Montpellier 1 - 1 Guingamp
Montpellier drew for the first time in eight matches as Guingamp captain Jimmy Briand cancelled out Steve Mounie's opener for the hosts in a 1-1 draw.

 Metz 1 - 1 Rennes

Metz were denied three big points at the last as Cheick Diabate's opener was cancelled out by Rennes substitute Wesley Saïd in the final minute.

SC Bastia 0 - 0 Saint-Etienne

Both sides had a player sent off as Bastia drew 0-0 at home to Saint-Etienne.

Nicolas Saint-Ruf saw red in the first half for Bastia and Etienne's Fabien Lemoine followed him off the field in the second period.
