NPFL Wednesday Round-up: El-Kanemi Go Top As 10-Man, Rangers Win As Enyimba Draw

 Here's Wednesday's round-up from the Nigerian Professional Football League...

El Kanemi Warriors 3 - 1 Sunshine Stars

El-Kanemi Warriors have climbed to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table following their 3-1 home win against El-Kanemi on matchday 11 on Wednesday afternoon.

Samuel Mathias opened scoring for El-Kanemi in the 25th minute but Ayo Saka equalised for Sunshine on 34 minutes.

Mathias had a chance to make it 2-1 for his team but missed a 45th minute penalty.

El-Kanemi were awarded another penalty on 65 minutes but this time Bello Kofarmata scored to put the hosts 2-1 ahead.

And in the 81st minute Mathias made amends for his penalty miss by making it 3-1 for El-Kanemi.  El-Kanemi have gone top on 21 points from 11 games.

Plateau United 0 - 0 Lobi Stars

Plateau couldn't take advantage of playing at home as they were held to a 0-0 draw by a resilient Lobi Stars.

The draw means Plateau drop to second place on 21 points.

Enugu Rangers 1 - 0 ABS FC

Champions Enugu Rangers put the disappointment of last Friday's loss to MFM FC as they pipped visiting ABS of Ilorin 1-0.

Rangers' goal was scored by Daniel Etor in the 35th minute.

The win was Rangers' third in the current campaign.

Enyimba 0 - 0 Shooting Stars

Enyimba was held at home by Shooting Stars as the game between the the teams ended in a goalless draw.

3SC were reduced to 10 men as Opeyemi Adetoyi was sent off for a second booking.

Abia Warriors 1 - 0 Niger Tornadoes

Abia Warriors missed a penalty as Tornadoes goalie Aliko punched out Zaki's spot kick. However, Anthony Okemmiri scored the rebound to give the home side a 1-0 victory over the visiting side.

Gombe United 2 - 0 Ifeanyi Ubah United

Gombe United defeated Ifeanyi Ubah 2-0 at home, thanks to goals from Austine Oladapo - who scored a free in the 38th minute - and Samuel Agba who scored from Oladapo's assist in the 72nd minute of play.

Katsina United 2 - 1 MFM FC

 Katsina United beat MFM at home.

Chinedu Udechukwu gave the home team a lead in the 14th minute before Austine Ogunye equalised for MFM in the 64th minute of play. Then Martins Ursule gave Kastina a late win.

Remo Stars 1 - 1 Kano Pillars

The game between Remo Stars and Kano Pillars ended in a 1-1 draw.

 Victor Mbaoma scored for the home team in the 35th minute before Rabiu Ali equalised for the away side in the 86th minute.

Wikki Tourist 0 - 0 Rivers United FC

The game between Wikki Tourist and Rivers United also ended in a goalless draw.
