Man United Defender Eric Bailly: I Have No Regrets About Missing Out On Juve Move

Before Eric Bailly signed with Spanish side Espanyol in 2011, he was spotted playing at an academy in his native Ivory Coast by Juventus, who were keen on bringing him to Turin.
However, a lack of football background (Bailly wasn’t registered with a club in the Ivory Coast) and an absence of paperwork meant the Italian giants were unable to secure a work permit for the youngster.

Bailly now finds himself playing for Man United, having signed a big-money deal when he moved from Villarreal in mid-2016.
“I had no regrets about Juventus because I had such a good time in Spain,” the Elephants defender told the Daily Mirror.

“I grew up watching Sergio Ramos, he was my hero. Then, here I am, playing against him.

“We beat Real Madrid 1-0 when I was at Villarreal. I could never have dreamed of that, it was incredible."
