Ajax Player Hakim Ziyech Set For Morocco Return

Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech is reportedly in line to be recalled to the Moroccan senior national team for their upcoming international matches.
The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for his Dutch club this season, featuring in 45 matches in all competitions and scoring 15 goals as well as providing 18 assists so far.

The former FC Twente man's performance has not gone unnoticed by the Morocco head coach Herve Renard, as reports in the North African nation now suggest that the talented midfielder is to be named among a 35-man roster for the 31 May international friendly match against Holland and then for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against African champions Cameroon in June.

Renard has not had the best of relationships with the Ajax midfielder and that has come under focus in Morocco.

Their differences, it is believed, led to Ziyech being left out of the squad to the last edition of the Afcon in Gabon.

However, Ziyech's recent performances for Ajax could see the midfielder force his way back into Renard's team.

Ziyech had initially represented the Dutch national team at under-19, 20 and 21 levels before switching allegiance to play for Morocco two years ago.
