Man City To Sign Benfica's Ederson And Monaco's Mendy

City are closing in on Benfica goalkeeper and Monaco left-back
Manchester City are close to completing the signings of Benfica goalkeeper Ederson and Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy, Goal have reported.

City are reportedly on the verge of agreeing deals for both players, with an announcement potentially set for Monday.

Highly-rated goalkeeper Ederson could cost upwards of £35m, a fee that would break the long standing record signing in that position of £33m for Juventus to sign Gigi Buffon from Parma in 2001.

The 23-year-old has excelled for Benfica this season, and Pep Guardiola reportedly views him as a player with the perfect attributes to fit into his system.

Mendy, meanwhile, is set to cost City around £39m as the club began their rebuilding of the full-back areas.

The powerful Frenchman will become City's second signing from Ligue 1 winners Monaco, after Bernardo Silva's arrival was confirmed on Friday.

Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker is also reportedly close to a move to the Etihad, as City look to avoid being drawn into lengthy negotiations for their top targets.
