Sampaoli Set To Be Named New Argentina Coach

AFA have reached an agreement in principle for Jorge Sampaoli to become the new head coach of Argentina
Argentina’s Football Association has agreed to pay Jorge Sampaoli's release clause, reaching an agreement that will allow the Sevilla coach to take over as the national team coach of his homeland.

The former Chile boss who described leading Argentina as his "dream" job, is leaving the Spanish club a year before his contract expires.

The agreement will be signed by both parties on June 1st.

AFA representatives have agreed to the rescission clause in Sampaoli's contract, which local media reported to be 1.5 million euros
A Sevilla statement read: "Sevilla and the Argentine Football Association (AFA) have reached an agreement in principle for the release of Jorge Sampaoli as coach of the Nervion outfit in order for him to become head coach of Argentina.

"This agreement in principle is pending the drafting and presentation of the pertinent documents, which must be signed by the parties next Thursday, June 1."
