2019 AFCON Qualifier: Nigeria To Begin Final Preparation Ahead Of SA Tie

Super Eagles of Nigeria will begin the final phase of preparation for the game against South Africa with a training session.
The Super Eagles will train in Abuja on Monday morning, before leaving to Uyo same day ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

The three-time African champions returned to the country last Friday from France, where they played two international friendly matches against Corsica and Togo, and will commence the final phase of preparations on Monday.

All the invited players for the match are expected back in camp latest this evening, after they were given the weekend off.

However, only a handful of those who played in the friendly games returned back to the country, as some others stayed behind to attend the wedding of Elderson Echiejile, who married his heartthrob Vwemo Ziregbe in a church ceremony in Paris on Saturday.

Of the 23-man squad announced for the AFCON qualifier, 'China Boys’, Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye were left out, so also was John Obi Mikel, who is recuperating after going under the knife for an ankle injury.

Also left out was Victor Moses. Libya and Seychelles are the other two teams in Nigeria’s AFCON qualifying group.
