Arsenal To Release Nigerian Striker Chuba Akpom - Report

A Nigerian-born England youth international, Chuba Akpom is among the top names facing possible exit from Arsenal this Summer latest reports suggest.
Akpom who starred in an unofficial friendly for the Super Eagles earlier in the year has been with the Gunners for over a decade and that long romance may just be ending this summer if the report by Independent.co.uk on Friday is anything to go by.

According to the English Outlet, aside Akpom others like Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Olivier Giroud, Lucas Perez, Calum Chambers, Wojciech Szczesny, Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson could all exit the club who failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since Arsene Wenger became manager of the club.

Akpom who is being considered by the Nigeria Football Federation and Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr, to represent Nigeria at the senior level has been loaned out to clubs like Hull City, Brighton, Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest.

Akpom's contract with the Gunners ends in the summer of 2019.
