Photo: Chelsea's Hazard Gives A Thumbs Up From Hospital After Successful Surgery On Fractured Ankle

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has provided his supporters with a positive injury update from hospital after undergoing surgery on a fractured ankle.
Hazard suffered the injury in a training ground accident on Sunday, while away on international duty with Belgium.

The Belgian underwent an operation on the injury on Monday and took to social media shortly afterwards to thank his fans for their support.

He said: "Everything went well with my ankle operation, now I start the road to recovery! I will be stronger. Thank you for your support everyone!!"
Hazard was originally expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks - providing him ample time to recover before the start of the new Premier League season on August 12.

Chelsea, however, have revealed that the Belgian faces an even longer lay-off and could be out for around three months.
A statement on the club's website said: "Eden Hazard successfully underwent surgery today (Monday) after sustaining a fracture to his right ankle while training with the Belgian national team. 

"He is expected to return to training in approximately three months."
