Report: Marco Asensio Set For New Real Madrid Deal

Asensio will end speculation linking him with a move away from Real Madrid by penning a new long-term contract with the La Liga champions.
Marca reports that in the coming days Marco Asensio will sign a contract extension keeping him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2023.

The contract extension will be the second time within the span of a year that Real Madrid have improved his contract.

Asensio was a key member to success this year for Los Blancos.

He was instrumental in what many considered to be Zidane’s ‘B Team’ that secured La Liga title for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

Zidane could hardly expect Asensio to perform as well as he did this season after he insisted the player was brought back from his loan spell last summer.

According to Marca, the midfielder’s new contract will include a staggering €350m release clause fee to fend off interest in Asensio's services.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur were all believed to be interested in luring the former Espanyol loanee away from the continent, but Real were steadfast in their refusal to allow one of their talented crop of young players to leave.
