Virgil van Dijk Tells Southampton He Wants Liverpool Move

Virgil van Dijk seems to be on his way to the exit at his current club Southampton as he's the next player from the south coast to move to Liverpool.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, is still targeting some improvements on his squad and according to the Guardian, he's made the Dutch defender his top priority.

Van Dijk, 25, seems on his way to become the most expensive Dutch player ever as he'll move to Anfield for a rumoured £60 million.

However, Southampton maintain that Van Dijk is not for sale but Liverpool are ready to break their transfer record and make Van Dijk the highest-paid player at the club by offering him a contract of about £200,000 a week, while also paying the world-record fee for a centre back.

That record is currently held by David Luiz, whom Chelsea sold to Paris Saint-Germain for £50 million in 2015 before buying him back last season.

The central defender has reportedly told his suitors and Southampton that he favours a move to the Merseyside.
