Dani Alves Doesn't Have A Problem With The Board, He Has A Personal One, Says Barca President Josep Maria Bartomeu

Since leaving the Camp Nou in the summer of 2016, Dani Alves has hit out at the Barcelona board on a number of occasions, accusing them of a lack of respect.
However, club president Josep Maria Bartomeu disputes that suggestion and has revealed that the reasons for the Brazilian's exit were personal.
"Dani Alves doesn't have any problem with the board," he told Mundo Deportivo.

"He and I both know exactly what his problem was, which was very personal for him and not a sporting one.

"It is an issue that his agent, he and I all know about."
Those comments were echoed in another interview the president gave, in which he also insisted there was no problem between him and the player or between Luis Enrique and the player.
"He is a very kind and funny person and he gets on with all of us, but he left due to a personal issue, which isn't what he said the other day about the directive," Bartomeu said to Sport.

"He can explain if he wants, but I repeat that it is a personal issue."
Bartomeu also confirmed that there were discussions about a possible return last January after Alves offered himself to the club, but that they didn't come to anything and that the right-back won't be coming back to Barcelona.
