Man City Boss Pep Guardiola Set To Break Real Madrid's Transfer Record

Pep Guardiola is on course to smash Real Madrid's record for the most money spent in one transfer window.
The Manchester City boss has already splashed out a barmy N89.6b (€224m) in this window - and more players could be on the way.

Pep's shopping spree means that the club trail only Real Madrid for spending power in one window.

In the summer of 2009 Los Blancos president Florentino PĂ©rez handed Manuel Pellegrini a small fortune to rebuild the Spanish giants.

And while Pep has been spending his fortune on Kyle Walker, Danilo and Benjamin Mendy - two right-backs and a left-back - Real Madrid spent the bulk of their money bringing in Ballon d'Or winners: Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.
