Puyol Questions Xavi Comments Over Resigning Old Players

Former Barcelona captain and defender, Carles Puyol, has shared his opinion on the transfers of Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Pique.
Xavi made a statement last week, saying: "I wouldn't resign players who left Barcelona," which include the likes of Gerard Pique, Cesc Fabregas, Gerard Duelofeu, and Hector Bellerin.

Puyol who spent plenty of years on the pitch with Xavi, disagrees with his former teammate.
He said: It’s his opinion, but therefore he wouldn’t have signed Cesc or Pique, the latter of whom has given incredible service, I think you have to analyse each case individually and also analyse the reasons that led them to leave in the first place.

“You have to see things as they happen and if you have the chance to sign Pique, who’s the best centre-back in the world, and you don’t because he was at your club and left, it’s a mistake.

“But like I said, it’s his opinion and it must be respected"
