Kenyan Player Dumps National Team

Kenyan international Arnold Origi is now ineligible to play for the Harambee Stars despite earning a call on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper was named in the Kenya squad that will take on Mozambique in an international friendly on 2 September 2017.

Origi, who was born in Nairobi, Kenya, has now taken up Norwegian citizenship hence is ineligible to turn out for the Harambee Stars.

This was confirmed by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Robert Muthomi according to Goal Kenya.
“Origi will not be available for selection because of eligibility challenges," Muthomi said.

"He has already acquired Norwegian citizenship and will hence not be eligible to turn out fort Kenya."
Origi, who plays for Norwegian club Lillestrom, was one of the 11 foreign-based players named in the squad to face the Black Mambas in Maputo, Mozambique.

His cousin Divock plays for English Premier League (EPL) giants and Belgian national team.
