Casillas Beats Real Madrid Star Ronaldo & Barca's Messi to Win Golden Foot Award

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has won the prestigious Golden Foot award.
The 36-year-old, now playing at Porto, beat a star-studded 10-man shortlist of players who are over the age of 28 and haven't won the award previously.

Casillas beat the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Luis Suarez, Manuel Neuer and Andrea Pirlo to win the award.

The prize is decided by a public online poll for players who stand out for their great achievements in football.

The winner of the Golden Foot award leaves a permanent mould of their footprints or handprints on 'The Champions Promenade' on the seafront in Monaco.
Casillas moulded his handprints in concrete after winning the award in Monaco

Casillas has become the second goalkeeper in a row to win the Golden Foot award after Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon won it last year.

The shot-stopper has won 13 major trophies during his long and successful career, including five La Liga titles, three Champions League crowns and the World Cup.
