Roberto & Barca Close To New Deal Agreement

Sergi Roberto and Barcelona are close to settling terms on a new deal.
Spanish Radio Catalunya reports there was a meeting on Monday between the two parties -- the second meeting -- and while a new deal is still not closed several things have been agreed on.

The club are offering Roberto a deal until 2022 (his current terms expire in 2019) and his release clause will rise to 400 million euros (N160 billion) from 40 million euros (N16 billion).

Logically, the player wants a salary to match such an important buyout clause and feels his current salary does not reflect his place in the squad anymore.

Oscar Grau and Pep Segura, who are negotiating for Barça, are trying to close a deal with Josep Maria Orobitg, Roberto's agent.
