Chelsea To Install Ex-Barca Boss Enrique If Conte Is Sacked - Report

The relationship between the Chelsea board and manager Antonio Conte has been strained this season, which has nourished speculations on a potential sacking of the Italian coach.
The Blues currently sit at the third spot in the English Premier League, fifteen points behind Manchester City.

The Telegraph reports that the recent elimination in the Carabao Cup has led to another feud between the Italian tactician and the Chelsea bosses.

Conte specifically criticized the transfer policy of the club.

The British newspaper claims that 'it is almost certain' that the manager will leave at the end of the season.

But there is a limit to the amount of criticism the board can put up with, although they are aware of how harmful a sacking can be to the remaining objectives of the club.

If The Blues do decide to fire Conte, they will try to install Luis Enrique as their new head coach.

Following the former Barcelona coach, Juventus' Massimiliano Allegri and Atletico's Diego Simeone are also high up on their shortlist.

On Sunday, Newcastle United were dumped out of the English FA Cup by Chelsea after Michy Batshuayi's brace and Marcos Alonso’s goal took the current English champs to the fifth round of the competition.
