Man United Target Real Madrid's Mateo Kovacic

Manchester United have already been active in the transfer market this month by swapping Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Alexis Sanchez, but it seems like Jose Mourinho still wants to make some changes to his squad.

In search of a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick, Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic has become the top priority for The Red Devils, according to reports from Le10 Sport.

Carrick isn't expected to make much game time anymore after he experienced an irregularity in his heart rhythm in September.

Kovacic struggles to play under Zinedine Zidane this season, having only started once this season in La Liga, despite their side underporming in the competition as Los Blancos toil 19 points behind table leaders Barcelona.

Earlier this month, the 23-year-old Croation has been linked to a move to Tottenham Hotspur, but reportedly, Manchester United lead the race.
