Mkhitaryan Takes Jibe At Mourinho With 'Offensive Football' Praise For Wenger

Henrikh Mkhitaryan says he is looking forward to playing attacking football at Arsenal in a thinly-veiled jibe at former manager Jose Mourinho.
The Armenian midfielder moved to the Emirates earlier this month in a swap deal with Alexis Sanchez after becoming surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Mkhitaryan started only one English Premier League game in his final two months at United and is looking forward to a new lease of life at the Gunners.

He told Arsenal Player he is excited to link up with manager Arsene Wenger after 18 months working with Mourinho.
"Of course it's very important to have respect from your manager. I know that he's demanding and he likes his players to explore," he said.

"He was one of the [reasons] to join Arsenal as well because everyone knows he's a great manager.

"I've known him for a long time and of course it was not very difficult to make this decision to come to Arsenal, because I think the way that Arsenal play [make] it a dream for every player to come here and play offensive football."
In a season-and-a-half at United Mkhitaryan scored 13 times in 63 appearances but struggled to nail down a regular starting place.

The 29-year-old is set to make his Arsenal debut on Tuesday night when they travel to Swansea.
