We've Got Ozil! Mesut Signs New Contract With Arsenal Until 2021

After months of speculation German international attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil has put en end to it all by signing a contract extension with English Premier League outfit Arsenal.
The former Real Madrid player had less than six months left to run on his old deal at the Emirates Stadium and unless a new deal would have been agreed he could have left the Gunners on a free transfer at the end of this season.

Ozil, 29, had widely been expected to leave the club as he failed to agree to new terms as his contract ran down and was heavily linked with rivals Manchester United.
Now Ozil has signed a three year contract extension which will see him tied to Arsenal until end of June 2021.
"We're delighted to announce that Mesut Ozil has signed a new long-term contract with us," the club confirmed via their official website.

"Congratulations Mesut - here's to many more years of success."
Ozil said in a statement: "#YaGunnersYa... ooh yaaa! Proud to announce: I signed dat thing... three more years with Arsenal!

"It's been one of the most important decisions of my footballing career, and that's why I had to think hard and talk with everyone who is important to me... good things take time!

"In the end I let my heart decide. As I always said, I feel at home here and I'm highly motivated to achieve big things in the next few years. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner!"
World Cup winner Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid in a £42.5m switch in 2013, and has since made 182 appearances, scoring 36 goals and creating 61 assists. He has won the FA Cup three times in the past four seasons.
