Man City's Aguero To Miss Rest Of Season

Sergio Aguero's season is "likely" to be over after the Manchester City striker underwent successful operation on a knee injury but should be fit for Argentina in time for the World Cup this summer.
The newly-crowned English Premier League champions confirmed on Tuesday that the operation was "minor" and designed to correct a problem he has been playing through since sustaining it in training in March.

Aguero has not started a game since March 4 but made late substitute appearances in the home defeats to Manchester United and Liverpool.

But City said Aguero had aggravated the injury after being caught by a strong tackle from United's Ashley Young in the Manchester derby earlier this month.

And with Argentina preparing for the World Cup in June, City added:
"After the season the 29-year-old will turn his attentions to World Cup glory in Russia with Argentina."
The Argentine tweeted on Tuesday:
"Recovering from an arthroscopy on my knee. Fully motivated to get back soon to the field."
